Our Mission Statement
"Bringing The Pieces Together"
Puzzled is an annual not-for-profit charity event to raise funds and awareness for children and young adults with special needs, such as autism. These individuals have struggled with their education in traditional school settings. Since 2013, we have led the Central & Southwestern Virginia region's effort to raise awareness and funding for these children and young adults with their unique learning challenges.
What We've Achieved
Giving over $80,000 in the past five years to benefit children with autism.
Puzzled 2018 attracted over 200 Car, Truck, and Bike Show Entries, 3,500 Spectators, 50 Vendors, and hundreds of children to attend the Puzzled Kid's Carnival. This event, alone, raised over $27,000.
Puzzled has become a leader in helping parents and families of special-needs children connect with others with the same needs and challenges. Puzzled has Help many families of children with special needs connect with needed resources for these challenges.
Puzzled has developed many friendships and a loyal following of our annual event, attracting participants and patrons from as far away as Pennsylvania, New York, West Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
PUZZLED 2019 goals
Team Puzzled's goal for 2019 is to raise $32,000.00 to benefit children with special needs. We have chosen to give the proceeds from our Puzzled 2019 charity event to Centra Health’s Rivermont Schools, which help educate children and young adults, ages 5-22, with individual special needs, such as autism. The Rivermont Schools also help special needs teenagers and young adults with job and career training. The Rivermont Schools help the children and young adults become successful by teaching valuable skills such as activities of daily living, needed for everyday life. Not only does it help with educating the children, but Centra’s Rivermont School also provides access to resources for diagnosis and treatment/therapy for children with special needs or multiple diagnoses. There are 12 (soon to be 13) Rivermont School locations throughout Virginia, that specialize in providing the best mode of education for each child’s unique needs. Their expert faculty and staff help their children and young adults by emphasizing what each child is ABLE to do, and supporting them throughout their journey to success.
